Mick McCarthy sensationally resigned as Ipswich boss on this day in 2018, telling the media "I'm out of here" in the soccer tips for tomorrow page.

McCarthy went on to manage the Republic of Ireland, guiding them to the Euro 2020 play-offs before UEFA announced they were postponed.
